South Africa: Join the Disky Dance!

TV adverts aimed at attracting tourists are quite predictable when it comes to presenting the characteristics of a country and its people. Showing the most beautiful and interesting places of the country, inserting the adequate background music, adding some filters to create the specific atmosphere  of those places and people, and there you are, you have the perfect online video or television advertisement.

Watch the following video ad and answer the following questions:

1) Is this a video ad for national tourism?

2) What do the dance moves resemble and why did they make an advertisement containing a dance?

3) As you’ve  probably noticed, the video starts at 0:42 sec. In the missing part the leader of the dance group talks to the viewer (a potential tourist). Write down what you think he could say. If you have a microphone, you can read your text aloud  and record it as an audio comment on this post. Alternatively, you can use Vocaroo or AudioPal to get an embed code for your voice widget, which you could post it to me as a link on edmodo.
